Parts of Great Western Hospital closed due to power outage

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are experiencing a power outage this afternoon (Tuesday 9 July).

They have written on X to say it is affecting some areas of Great Western Hospital including the Urgent Treatment Centre and the Emergency Department.

Patients with a serious medical condition are being told to phone NHS 111 or 999.

Planned appointments are currently postponed, so patients who have one planned for today are being told 'do not' attend.

The trust says they will contact you at the earliest opportunity to re-arrange.
