Police wanting to identify Good Samaritan in Swindon assault

It happened in the early hours of the 29th May in an alleyway behind Manchester Road

Detectives investigating an assault on a woman in Swindon have released an image of a key witness they want to speak to.

She had been walking in an alleyway behind Manchester Road at around 4.20am on 29 May, when she was pushed to the floor by a man.

The suspect was disturbed by a member of the public who then assisted the victim following the incident.

Officers are now trying to identify, and speak to, the Good Samaritan. They say they can now release two images of him - and are stressing he is not bring treated as a suspect in the case.

Police say they would urge this man to come forward and assist detectives with their investigation.
