Police investigating man approaching girls outside Swindon schools

Police in Swindon say they're investigating a number of incidents - in which a man's believed to be approaching female pupils outside schools.

They say he's not known to the girls, but it's believed he tries to engage with them in conversation.

Wiltshire Police add that his behaviour prompted the girls he tried to engage with to raise concerns - and have confirmed that there is 'no suggestion' that the children involved in the incidents were physically harmed.

Inspector Stefan Telford said: “We are actively investigating these reports, which appear to relate to one person.

“We recognise the concerns that this will have caused in the local community and we would urge anyone who is approached by someone they don’t know to report such incidents to us immediately.”
