Wiltshire Police are stepping-up patrols in parts of Westbury after a 'series of incidents' in recent days.

They add Specialist Operations colleagues have also been out and about as they seek to deal with anybody trespassing and causing criminal damage 'robustly'.

On Facebook, Westbury Police said: "Following a series of incidents including trespass, burglary, criminal damage and arson at Penleigh Farm on Fairwood Road near Dilton Marsh, police patrols have been upped in the area.

"As well as local officers patrolling, our Specialist Operations colleagues (including dog units, specialist firearms units and roads policing) have been given access to the farm.

"Our dog handlers are always looking for new locations to take their dogs, and they are now using the farmyard and buildings for exercise.

"There is no public access across the land; and anyone found on the property will be dealt with robustly."
