Police have enforced a partial closure order in West Swindon, as they attempt to crack-down on dangerous drivers.

It follows several complaints from local residents regarding speeding and racing in the area.

The closure notice has been introduced at the car park of Sainsbury's and B&M, off Paddington Drive.

It means any non-customers are banned from the site. People who breach the order could be arrested, or fined.

On Sunday 22 May, officers carried out speed checks and informed people locally about the notice.

'Greater peace of mind for residents'

Speaking to Greatest Hits Radio, local MP Sir Robert Buckland said he's "glad" the issue is being addressed.

"Residents have continued to contact me with their complaints.

"It's really important that we work together, with the police, in order to tackle this scourge and provide greater peace of mind for residents," he added.
