Police continue to question 14-year-old on suspicion of murder
It's in the connection with a fatal stabbing in North Swindon on Sunday
Detectives, investigating the murder of an 18-year-old in North Swindon say they're continuing to question a boy.
The 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday, shortly after police responded to reports of a stabbing on Mazurek Way.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the same time as the boy, but police have since released him under investigation.
Whilst formal identification of the victim is yet to be confirmed - police say they believe they know the identity of the 18-year-old and his next of kin have been informed.
He has been named locally.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker, of the Murder Crime Investigation Team said: “This is a fast-paced investigation and we are exploring many lines of enquiries.
"We recognise this will have had a huge impact on the local community and we are heartened by the large number of people who are coming forward with information to help with our enquiries."
Police are asking people with information to get in touch and say "even the most seemingly insignificant piece of information can sometimes be a vital element in our investigation".
