Police charge man with murder over Swindon death

32 year old due to appear in court this morning

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Swindon.

Police were called to an address in Westbourne Court at about 1am on Sunday morning following a serious assault.

A man in his 50s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Yesterday, police charged Grant Walker, 32, of Faringdon Road, Swindon, with murder following a swift investigation by the Force’s Major Crime Investigation Team and local policing teams.

He has also been charged with assault on an emergency worker.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Hatch said: “I’d like to offer my condolences to the victim's family and thank them for their support during this investigation.

“Our thoughts are with them and they continue to be supported by specially trained officers.”
