Police appeal to ID pedestrian after A419 collision

Pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries

Police are urgently appealing for information following a road traffic collision on the A419 this Saturday morning (18th September).

Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 5.45am on the northbound carriageway where a car had collided with a male pedestrian.

The pedestrian has suffered life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.

Police are now trying to identify the man who was struck by the car and are asking for his next of kin to contact them.

The injured man is described as white, in his 20s, approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall, with dark black, wavy hair. He was wearing dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms and a light-coloured top.

Officers are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have dashcam footage from that area at that time this morning.

Anyone with information is asked to urgently call 101, quoting log 67 of today’s date (18/09).

The northbound carriageway of the A419 remains closed from junction 15 of the M4 while the investigation continues.

Police are providing support to the driver of the vehicle involved.
