Police are appealing for information, after a stabbing in Swindon over the weekend.

Officers were called to a property on Castleton Road, Middleaze, just before 10pm on Saturday 15 November.

A man, in his 40s, had received several stab wounds and was taken to hospital in Bristol.

Although police have called the injuries "serious", they are not believed to be life-threatening. The victim is now in a stable condition.

A 38-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

'An assault by someone known to the victim.'

Detective Sergeant Scott Anger, from Swindon CID, said: “Although this investigation is still at a relatively early stage, our initial findings suggest that this was not a random incident, but rather an assault by someone known to the victim.

“People living in the local community will have seen a police presence at the scene overnight and throughout the day today, so I don't want them to be alarmed by this.

“If you live in the area and saw anything suspicious ... or if you have an information about what happened, please get in touch".

Officers are now urging anyone with relevant information, or private CCTV or video doorbell footage, to call 101. The crime reference is 54210110937.
