Over 800 people caught speeding on Wiltshire's roads in July
It brings the total past 6,000 for the entire year
Over 800 people were caught speeding on Wiltshire's roads in July, according to figures released by the force.
Speed Enforcement Officers at Wiltshire Police have now caught 6,409 people speeding this year.
The 810 people caught last month represents a drop from June, continuing a trend of lower numbers since April's high of 1,367.
But the force said: "It is important to reiterate that speeding isn't just breaking the law - it is putting lives at risk."
The Roads Policing Unit adds that reducing our speeds just a little bit can give us more time to react to the unexpected, protect vulnerable road users like pedestrians and cyclists, reduce the severity of crashes and prevent fatalities.
The message is to be safe, drive smart and watch our speed.
