A disused nightclub in Swindon has been closed off for three months after concerns about ongoing anti-social behaviour at the site.
The former Medina nightclub in Theatre Square has become a concern for residents and police in recent months after several reports of people gaining entry to the building, which is in a state of disrepair.
On 11th November, officers attended Swindon Magistrates Court, where they were granted a three-month closure order for the building
This means only police, emergency workers, or those given written authorisation by Swindon Borough Council are permitted to enter the building.
Anyone else entering the building is committing an offence and may be arrested.
Inspector David Tippetts said: "This location has been the subject of numerous calls over the past couple of weeks due to anti-social behaviour.
"With this order in place, anyone who enters the building without authorisation commits an offence, for which they are liable to be arrested.
"Local residents should be reassured by this news. We will continue to regularly patrol the area to ensure the order is being adhered to."
