New Wiltshire Police and Crime plan to be drafted
Draft follows four week public consultation
A Police and Crime plan for Wiltshire is being drafted following a public consultation.
The plan is a blueprint for the strategic policing and crime priorities for the next three years.
Launched in July for a period of 4 weeks, the Use Your Voice survey allowed people in Wiltshire and Swindon to have their say on different aspects of policing
Philip Wilkinson is the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire:
"I live here and I'm interacting on a daily basis and I listen to people.
"I'm pretty confident that I know what the concerns are of the residents of Wiltshire - not only in the immediate area that I live but also, I go to parish council meetings in Swindon," he says.
He says there have been some major changes since his last Police and Crime Plan:
"A plan is a means to an end, rather than an end in itself. And what's changed significantly since my last plan is the competency and capability of Wiltshire Police Force to actually deliver the plan."
Mr Wilkinson tells us what will happen next:
"When we have something which is reasonably coherent, I will share it outside of my office, with the Police and Crime Panel - and basically anybody who might be able to give me half an hour to have a read through it."
