Prostate Cancer UK's announced it's trialling a new screening process to identify prostate cancer in men, aiming to double the number of lives saved.

It's the most common cancer without a UK screening programme, relying on men asking for a test from their GP.

Professor Mark Everard is a Prostate Cancer survivor from Wiltshire. He's glad to see screening improved for prostate cancer.

He says him being alive now was not a given when he was diagnosed, and the earlier you're diagnosed, the more likely you are to survive

"It really really matters," he says.

He urges anyone who thinks they might be suffering from the disease to get checked out

"Just be proactive, I had zero symptoms, if id waited for symptoms it might have already been too late to stop the progression"
