New family support model launched across Wiltshire
The new model aims to give great support to more people in the county
Last updated 2nd Apr 2024
New family hubs have launched in Wiltshire today (2/4) to give families, children and young people better support.
The new model supports families with children up the age of 19, or to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities and allow for greater help and guidance in local communities.
Three centre hubs have been opened, at County Hall in Trowbridge, Monkton Park in Chippenham and Five Rivers in Salisbury.
These hubs will have its own team of 'navigators', who'll be present in the community to offer support families need and make connections to other agencies such as schools and early years provision.
There will be further support brought to locations across the county at venues such as libraries and leisure centres, known as 'Navigator Locations', including the places listed below:
• Amesbury Library
• Bradford on Avon Library
• Bulford: The Beeches
• Calne Library
• Chippenham Monkton Park and Library
• Corsham – Springfield Campus
• Cricklade Leisure Centre
• Devizes Library

Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, says they're a result feedback from local people.
“We have listened to our families and young people, and they have told us they want to access support, classes and advice in a way that best suits them. This may be a look for information online or having that opportunity to talk face to face with someone.
“Our Family Hubs model offers this. There will be opportunities for face-to-face support from trained, skilled staff and a variety of groups, courses, and classes on offer. There will also be that 24/7 aspect, with the digital platform offering advice and support any time.
The Council is working with Spurgeons in a contract worth £3million to deliver the new model across Wiltshire.
Ian Soars is their Chief Executive, he said: “Spurgeons are committed to making the family hub vision a reality in Wiltshire. We are partnering with Wiltshire Council and other community providers, ensuring we continue to provide the high quality, compassionate support that the children and families of Wiltshire deserve.”
