Motorcyclist dies in 'tragic' Highworth crash

Wiltshire Police says its "thoughts are with" the victim's family

A male motorcyclist has died, after a crash a few miles north of Swindon.

The 47 year-old collided with a car on the B4019 in Highworth, at the junction for Hannington.

The incident took place at approximately 11:40 BST on Wednesday 2 June, with the scooter-driver being pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said the victim's next of kin have been informed. The Force added that its thoughts are with the family of the motorcyclist "at this tragic time".

The road was closed for around six hours.

Anyone with any information on the incident is now being urged to call 101, quoting log number 103 of Wednesday 2 June.
