They were called at around 6.50am yesterday morning (Saturday 2 April) to an incident where a man had entered the Tesco Express and threatened staff before stealing a quantity of alcohol.

Officers say nobody was injured.

Inspector James Neighbour, from the local policing team, said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage, but local people are likely to have noticed a police presence in the area during today.

“We are currently speaking to witnesses and viewing CCTV footage, but we would ask anyone with information who hasn’t yet spoken to us, to please get in touch.”

The suspect is described as white, wearing gloves and a face mask, a black padded coat and grey jogging bottoms.

Wiltshire Police say anyone with information should call 101 quoting crime reference 54220033686. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
