Man suffers life-changing injuries after Swindon dog attack

A man is being treated for life-changing injuries after a dog attack in Swindon.

Police were called to Exeter Street yesterday afternoon (27 April) - and the animal was sedated and secured.

The owner has been arrested - officers are asking anyone with information to get in touch.

In a statement, officers said: "We responded to reports of a dog out of control in a property in Exeter Street, Swindon around 4.20pm this afternoon (27/04).

"A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital to be treated for life changing injuries.

"Firearms officers were deployed to the area to make sure the area was safe.

"The dog was sedated and secured. The owner, a 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of being the owner/person in charge of dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

"There is not thought to be a further threat to the public.
