Man suffers broken leg after violent attack in Swindon

Police are appealing for witnesses of the incident which happened last month

A man suffered a broken leg following a violent attack in old Town, Swindon last month.

The incident happened in the alleyway that runs between Hoopers Place and Wood Street, known as Michaels Walk, between 11.50pm on October 23 and 12.15am on October 24.

Three men were involved in a violent confrontation with the victim – a man in his 50s from Somerset.

The victim sustained a broken leg as a result of the attack and required surgery at the Great Western Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help with their investigation.

Det Con Emma Rossiter said: “This was a violent and seemingly unprovoked attack which has left a man with a broken leg. We understand there were a large number of witnesses to the assault and we are really keen to speak to these people as part of our investigation.

“If you can help please get in touch. We will not tolerate violence of this nature on our streets.”

As part of our investigation, two 19-year-old men and a 21-year-old man, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH and released under investigation while enquiries continue."
