Arrested man released under investigation after North Swindon death

He had been arrested on suspicion of murder

A man who was arrested in connection with a woman's death in North Swindon has been released under investigation.

Detectives were called to a house on Standen Way, Blunsdon St Andrew, at around 2:30am yesterday, after a woman died suddenly.

She has since been identified as Helen Long. Her family are now being supported by specialist officers.

A post-mortem of the 44-year-old, which took place yesterday, found no cause of death.

A 70-year-old man, who arrested on suspicion of murder, has been interviewed and released under investigation.

Wiltshire Police say they are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.

Detective Inspector Simon Childe, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, added: "We know that this incident will have caused concern locally, but I want the community to be reassured that we are carrying out an in-depth investigation.

"Our thoughts are with Helen’s family at this difficult time, and we are working hard to ensure we understand the full circumstances of her death".
