A 22-year-old man has been jailed for five and a half years after being arrested in Swindon with class A drugs hidden in his underwear.
Jaredel Comrie, of St Johns Lane, Bedminster, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on 25th November after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, possession of cannabis, and breach of a criminal behaviour order made by Bristol Crown Court in January 2024.
Comrie was stopped by police on Beckhampton Street, Swindon, on 11th October after displaying suspicious behaviour in an area known for drug activity.
He initially gave officers two false names, one of which matched a wanted individual from Bristol.
Police searched him and found cannabis and cash.
He was arrested, and during a further search in custody, officers discovered a phone and a significant amount of cocaine and heroin hidden in his underwear.
Additional investigations revealed messages on his mobile phones relating to drug supply.
PC Lauren Vincent, from the Local Policing Tasking Team, said:
“Comrie was found with a total of 46 wraps of class A drugs hidden in his pants and a phone which he used to arrange and facilitate the supply of class A drugs in the Swindon area.
"I am pleased we have been able to intercept this chain of supply and prevent these drugs reaching the hands of vulnerable users in our communities.”
