Man due in court after blaze at property in Swindon

A man from is due in court later today (July 24) after a fire at a house on Downton Road on Friday night.

Swindon Police say 32-year-old Adam Ramsay from Downton Road is charged with arson with recklessness following the incident, and has been remanded in custody.

In a statement on Sunday, the force added: "A man from Swindon has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered following a fire at a property in Downton Road.

"Emergency services including Wiltshire Police attended the address around 7pm on Friday night.

"Adam Ramsay, 35, of Downton Road, Penhill has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court tomorrow."
