A man involved in a moped collision in Swindon has died.

It happened on Butterworth Street around 12.30am last Thursday - the moped collided with a parked car.

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition and has since died.

In a statment, Wiltshi Police said: "It has been confirmed by our partners in the emergency services that the man suffered a medical episode prior to the collision, which has been recorded as the cause of death.

"His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

"The incident was initially referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to police contact with the moped rider prior to the incident.

"The IOPC has since determined there is not a necessity to direct an investigation and the matter has been returned to Wiltshire Police to consider locally."
