Man in court charged with Class A drugs offences

Police executed two warrants in Calne and Devizes

On Tuesday (05/04) officers from the North Wiltshire neighbourhood policing team executed two warrants at a business premises in New Park Street, Devizes, and a residential address in Dixon Way, Calne.

The operation also included officers from the Devizes neighbourhood team, a specialist search team, firearms officers, officers from Operation Fortitude and the Digital Intelligence Investigation Unit.

Jon Brewster, aged 32, of Dixon Way, Calne, was arrested and has since been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, namely cocaine.

He appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court yesterday (06/04) where he has been further remanded into custody to appear at Swindon Crown Court on the 6 May 2022.

Sergeant Gavin Brewster, from the North neighbourhood team, said: “The work of our neighbourhood policing team relies on information received from members of the public"

"We would urge anyone who has concerns about drug dealing in their local community to report this so we can act on it.”

Local Inspector James Brain added: “We want to make it clear that we will not tolerate drug dealing and will continue to work proactively with our partners to tackle this issue and ensure we are doing everything we can to make arrests and ensure offenders are brought to justice.”
