Man charged with attempted murder following serious assault in Swindon

Police say they don't believe there is a wider threat to the public

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault at an address on Broad Street, Swindon.

Police say there were called to the incident by the ambulance service at around 5.20pm on Monday 21 March, where a woman had suffered what are believed to be life-changing injuries.

She was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.

Sezwin Crasto, 21, of Broad Street, Swindon, has been charged with attempted murder and will appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (23rd March).

Another man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, but has since been released pending no further action.

Wiltshire Police said: "We’d like to reassure the local community that we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public".
