A man has been charged - and remanded into custody - for drugs offences after crashing an e-bike in Swindon.

It follows an incident in Pembroke Gardens last Thursday lunchtime (12.30pm on Thursday 12 September), which also involved a vehicle.

25-year-old Jahred Tafari from Pinehurst, who was riding the e-bike, is accused of possessing a bladed article and possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to supply.

He appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and has been remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance.

Police Sergeant Deller of the Stratton, Central Swindon North and West policing team said: “This incident involved excellent collaborative work with the community assisting the police, and I want to thank them for that.

“We always take drugs and weapons offences incredibly seriously and we would always encourage anybody who has information or intelligence on these offences to please report it to us.”
