Man attacked with brick and knife in Freshbrook

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the assault today (3rd September)

Emergency services were called to Crawford Close, in the Freshbrook area, shortly after midday today to reports of an assault.

A 30-year-old man at the address had been assaulted with a brick and suffered knife wounds to his neck. He was taken to Great Western Hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Wiltshire Police say no arrests have been made so far.

Detective Sergeant Scott Anger, from Swindon CID, said: “This was a violent and unprovoked assault which has left the victim with serious injuries.

“There has been a significant police presence in the area this afternoon as we have carried out enquiries, and this is likely to continue throughout the evening.

“We have spoken to a number of witnesses already, but we would urge anyone else with information to come forward and contact us.”
