Man arrested in connection with several incidents in Swindon

A man has been arrested in connection with several incidents in Swindon over the past week.

These include reports of a robbery and sexual assault near Ferndale Road at around 5:15 on Saturday, and a grievous bodily harm (GBH) and theft in Pinehurst at 9am on Friday.

He was also arrested in connection with reports of an attempted robbery on Southbrook Street on Wednesday 27 September.

Firearms officers helped detain the man - who is in his 20s - in Pinehurst in the early hours of this morning.

He was arrested on suspicion of robbery, sexual assault, criminal damage, theft and GBH.

The man remains in custody for questioning.
