Man arrested following attempted kidnapping in Swindon

He has been released on conditional bail and investigations are ongoing.

A 27-year-old has been arrested following a reported attempted kidnapping incident in Swindon on March 6.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, specifically several people who got off a number 5 bus in Fleming Way.

A victim was followed by a man, who tried to talk to her about housing and invited her to his home, as she walked from Princess Street to Fleming Way.

She has reported being grabbed by him before a bus stopped close to the Leonardo Hotel.

A 27-year-old from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnap and committing an offence with the intention of committing a relevant sexual offence.

He has been released on conditional bail and investigations are ongoing.
