Man arrested after M4 pursuit thanks to help of Police Dog

There was no escaping PD Conan's 'Jaw's of Justice'

A man's in custody with Wiltshire Police after a pursuit along the M4 on Tuesday night thanks to the help of Police Dog Conan.

The Roads Policing Unit were given the green light to pursue a vehicle around 10:30pm with concerns over the manner of driving and intelligence on the vehicle.

The chase began on near junction 16, where the driver failed to stop, concluding at junction 12 with officers executing a tactical stop.

However, the chase switched from car to foot as the driver attempted to escape but was PD Conan caught up with him and successfully detained him.

The suspect, who's in his 30s and from Swansea, was arrested on was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

He then failed a drugs wipe and was further arrested for driving under the influence of cocaine.

He remains in custody for questioning.
