Man arrested after 'incident of disorder' at Trowbridge Carnival

He has since been released as investigations continue

Police have arrested a man after an incident of disorder at Trowbridge Carnival over the weekend.

They report he began threatening people while trying to free his car from a car park - add he began to drive at members of the public, including some children.

He was taken on suspicion of public order offences, dangerous driving - as well as driving without insurance.

He's been released under investigation.

Wiltshire Police said: "We have arrested a man following a disorder at Trowbridge Carnival on Saturday night (19/10).

"The man bypassed a road closure in Bythesea Road while trying to free his car from a car park and drove at members of the public, including some children.

"When challenged, the man exited his car and began threatening people.

"Officers responded swiftly and arrested the man on suspicion of section four and section five public order offences as well as dangerous driving.

"In custody, the man was further arrested for driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and without insurance.

"We have released him under investigation while our enquiries continue.
