As Swindon faces another day of wet and windy weather, the owner of a major Swindon attraction is still trying to recover from this week's floods.

KidzAbout, an indoor play area on Mead Way, was set to close this weekend but the weather is looking to put a stop to it.

On Monday, staff were hoping to begin planning their goodbye party, after the landlord put an end to their lease.

Instead, damage caused by flooding means it's unlikely the Mead Way site will open again.

Alistair runs the site, he said: "We're a small family-run business, we've been going for 18 years in total. We lose our home as a result of this which is devastating, I can't ignore the emotional side and how it's impacting me, my team and the local community - we're absolutely gutted."

"I want people who came to visit us, in 5 or 10 years' time, to say "I remember this event or that event"'.

He insists this isn't the end and soon he will look to re-open elsewhere: "We're really proud of what we created and we're certainly looking to re-open in the not too distant future."
