Lyneham Banks road repairs to begin this summer

Work to repair a main road in Lyneham that suffered major damage in a landslip will get underway in the summer.

The B4069 at Lyneham Banks was hit by a storm in 2022, with significant rebuilding and drainage works required.

Wiltshire Council have now confirmed that Octavius Infrastructure Limited have been appointed to conduct these repairs.

The work is expected to be finished in Spring 2025.

Wiltshire Council added that repairs to nearby roads that will be subject to increased traffic during the closure will take place afterwards.

The authority's Cabinet Member for Highways, Cllr Nick Holder, said:

"We're pleased to award the contract to rebuild the B4069 at Lyneham Banks to Octavius, after what has been a difficult time for the community.

"As well as the build, in its tender, Octavius committed to providing various local social benefits, including a meet the contractor event, project newsletters and community litter picks.

"We are committed to having well-connected communities in our Business Plan, and this rebuild project will reopen this road once again, which will be a positive step forward for the local community."
