Lorry stuck under Swindon bridge causes road closures

Drivers in Swindon are facing delays after a heavy goods vehicle became stuck beneath a rail bridge.

The closures are affecting Great Western Way to Station Road, according to Swindon Police.

Recovery of the lorry is expected to take several hours, and drivers are being advised to use alternative routes to avoid significant traffic build-up.

Swindon Police said: “Please be aware that closures are in place from Great Western Way to Station Road in Swindon after a heavy goods vehicle has become stuck beneath the rail bridge.

"Recovery is expected to take some hours.

Drivers are strongly advised to seek alternative routes and expect significant traffic build up.”
