Largest Prehistoric pit in North West Europe found near Stonehenge
The pit dates back to between 8200 and 7800 BC
The largest prehistoric pit of its kind in North West Europe has been discovered near Stonehenge in Wiltshire.
A team of archaeologists from Belgium and the University of Birmingham have discovered thousands of them in the landscape.
One pit, which is thought to have been used by hunters, is 13 feet wide and 2 metres deep.
The archaeologists believe the pit dates back to between 8200 and 7800 BC.
