Comedian Ivo Graham, possibly the world’s most famous Swindon Town supporter, has also spoken out in support of campaigners who want to ensure refurbished Oasis leisure centre has a sports hall to go along with its famous pool and slides.

Ivo, who grew up near the town, and famously was educated at Eton College has spliced together three different videos.

In the first, wearing a Robins shirt and Harry McKirdy-inspired STFC bucket hat he introduces the second video, explaining his slightly unusual appearance,  topless, in a back garden hot tub, wearing an orange swimming cap (and hidden boardshorts), goggles and a moustache he had grown for a “Nick Cave party.”

In the main part of the video, Ivo emerges from the tub and says: “Contrary to popular belief I do not have a swimming pool at my home, so as a child, about as exciting as it got was spending my weekends at the Oasis centre, where I would shriek with delight at the sidewinder waterslides.”

Ivo tells the viewer that the future of the oasis and its sports hall “are being decided this week” after several years of closure since late 2020.

He advocates that people give their support to the Save Oasis Swindon’s aim to have a new sports hall added into the plans and says: “The places are important for community, and sport, and concerts and memories, and if you care about Swindon make your voice heard.”

At the end of the video, Ivo’s young daughter is filmed saying: “Save the Oasis”
