Woman dies in M4 Collision

Two people are currently in life threatening condition

A woman in her 60’s has died and two people are currently in a life-threatening condition after a car they were travelling in veered off the road and collided with a tree.

Emergency services were called to the M4 westbound between junctions 15 and 16 at approximately 11:50 am yesterday morning which resulted in road closures.

According to police, a Volvo S40 had left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

The front seat passenger, a woman from Oxford, sadly died at the scene.

The male driver and a female passenger aged in her 20s have both been taken to Southmead Hospital in a life-threatening condition. A male passenger aged in his 30s sustained an arm injury.

Wiltshire police now want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the accident happen to help understand what caused the accident.
