12 Bleed kits now in place around Swindon
Wiltshire police have worked alongside charity to help raise awareness.
The family of teenage boy who was murdered in Swindon are hoping to save the lives of other stabbing victims.
Working alongside Wiltshire Police, Owens World (the charity set up to help raise awareness for victims of knife crime) have now 12 bleed kids around Swindon.
The first bleed control kit was installed on the outside wall of Owen’s local community hall in Penhill, Swindon. Now a number feature in several locations which can be located via the Owen’s world website thanks to the campaign.
Police and crime commissioner Philip Wilkinson says its vital people know that they are in place:
“We need to make people aware that there is this facility that’s available to them, and it’s free.”
With the additional support of the Daniel Baird Foundation, Owen’s World bleed control kits are hoped to make crucial difference in emergencies. The kit is a compact and portable package of medical supplies specifically designed to effectively manage severe bleeding incidents.
Owen Dunn was stabbed to death by two teenagers in North Swindon in December 2022.
