Four people have been arrested after reports of disorder in Swindon.

Officers were called to Chickerall Road shortly after 4pm yesterday after reports of people armed with weapons there. An address on Buckhurst Crescent was searched last night and class A drugs, cash and weapons were seized.

Four males - aged between 16 to 42 - were arrested for offences including affray and possession with intent to supply class A drugs. They remain in police custody.

Det Chief Insp Joe Saunders said: ā€œThis incident happened at 4pm in the afternoon and was witnessed by members of the public. This is totally unacceptable behaviour and in line with the Chief Constableā€™s Force Priorities, we are absolutely committed to creating safer public spaces within our communities. We will not tolerate violent behaviour of this kind which causes others to feel intimidated or scared in their own neighbourhood.ā€

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101.
