Salisbury's resident duo of Peregrine Falcons have returned to the Cathedral nest box AND have laid their first egg.

Cathedral officials announced the pair's return on their social media pages on Wednesday afternoon (20/3).

And on Thursday morning (21/3) the first egg was spotted on the nest box livestream.

Last year, three chicks hatched and were named Lily, Rose and Rex.

Typically, three to four eggs will be laid by a nesting pair, with the incubation period lasting around 34 days. The majority of that is done by the Mother.

We can keep an eye out for new eggs and watch the Peregrine's progress on the Cathedral's website, which shows three livestreams of the nest box area.
