Former Swindon Town player Joey Beauchamp dies aged 50

Tributes have been paid to former Swindon Town player Joey Beauchamp who's died aged 50.

He joined the Robins from West Ham in 1994 - he'd been signed by the Hammers for £1m but didn't play a game for them as he didn't like the traffic from Oxford, as well as suffering from homesickness.

He was signed by Swindon Town for a combined record fee of £850,000, which also saw defender Adrian Whitbread join West Ham.

But it's his association at Oxford United for which he remains best known, becoming one of the club's all-time scorers.
