A cyclist has been threatened with a knife after a stand-off with a driver in Swindon.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident at the junction between Groundwell Road and York Road on Friday night.

We're told the driver of the car headed towards Southampton Street.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses following an altercation between a driver and a cyclist in Swindon, during which the cyclist was threatened with a knife.

"The incident happened at around 8pm on Friday (13/12) at the junction between Groundwell Road and York Road in central Swindon.

"The driver of the vehicle, a silver Ford Focus, is described as white, around 5ft 8ins, in his mid 30s, skinny with a scraggly beard and wearing a grey tracksuit.

"The suspect drove off down York Road and then turned right onto Southampton Street.

"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage to get in touch.
