A three-month partial closure order has been put in place at a house on London Street in Swindon, because of what Police say is a bid to tackle 'ongoing issues' at the property.

The order was granted for the house in the Railway Village by Swindon Magistrates Court yesterday (July 27) over anti-social behaviour, and for the supply of drugs.

It follows concerns of the address being 'cuckooed', with officers handed powers of entry to help protect the vulnerable occupants, and the wider community.

It's hoped the order will prevent further anti-social behaviour and criminality in the area.

The order will be in place for the next three months and will prevent anyone, other than the occupants of the property, as well as the emergency services and representatives from Swindon Borough Council to enter.

If the order is found to have been broken, this accounts for an offence and the subject could be arrested.

PC Paul Bezzant said “this order has been obtained after concerns the address was being ‘cuckooed’ by individuals involved in the supply of controlled drugs.

"This order and the powers of entry are an tool which will allow officers to help protect the vulnerable occupants and offer reassurance to the local community who have been impacted by the associated anti-social behaviour.

"Officers will continue to patrol the area to ensure the order is being adhered.”
