Residents in Chippenham are being urged to be extra vigilant following a number of burglaries.

Police say houses in Lower North Wraxall and West Kington were broken into on Wednesday night with jewellery and cash being taken.

According to officers, rural and remote houses just north of the A420 seem to be the targets.

They say these properties are often big, old, and are not overlooked by neighbours

Police say they believe the suspects are using cars with cloned number plates and wearing Covid-style face masks.

They're urging homeowners to consider fitting CCTV for extra security.
