The event's got a new name, and we're told it's got a 'new look'

The week long 'Glastonbury of history' will be back in South Wiltshire this summer, with a few changes.

The Chalke History Festival will be held from the 24th to 30th June, with a new name and a new look.

We're told the basis of the event remains the same, but there'll be more panels and discussions across the Festival, along with more live music.

A number of big household names have already been signed up - including James May, The Rest Is History duo Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook, Max Hastings, and Bettany Hughes.

A larger number of international speakers are also planned for this year.

The history festival in the Chalke Valley is the biggest event of its kind in the world

There'll will be five main venues for talks and discussions, with a different layout to previous festivals.

The main tent will be set-dressed on the stage, the second venue will be a vaudeville-style Spiegel tent and the outdoor stage will be a honeycomb dome design and closer to the hub of the main activities.

Live music across the week is set to include an ABBA tribute act on the Friday night and a D-Day Dance on the Saturday evening, and a five-course lunchtime historical banquet is planned on the Sunday.

The festival will be back for a week at the end of June, with thousands of people descending on the village of Broadchalke

Tickets will go on general release to the public in April.
