Assaults on Wiltshire Police officers rising, data says

Almost 400 attacks on officers were recorded in 2023

The number of assaults on Wiltshire Police officers has risen over the last three years, according to data published by the force.

In 2021, the force recorded 225 attacks on officers, but in 2023 that figure swelled to almost 400, with 321 registered in 2022.

May 2023 saw the highest number of attacks with 47.

So far in 2024, 194 assaults have been recorded.

The peak of that was in February with 47 - matching the highest point in the three previous years.
