Police in Chippenham arrested two people

Police in Chippenham say two people have been arrested at a nail bar and massage parlour after an intel-based raid.

It happened back on the 23rd of July in what they're calling an intel-based operation and day of action to target modern slavery and human trafficking in the region.

Those arrested have been bailed pending further investigations.

On social media, officers said: "On Tuesday July 23, officers from Chippenham Neighbourhood Policing Team led an intel based operation and day of action to target modern slavery and human trafficking in Chippenham, Calne and Corsham.

"Chippenham NPT were joined by Immigration Enforcement for a joint partner agency approach.

"Two arrests were made at a nail bar and massage parlour in Chippenham. A 25-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were arrested under Schedule 2 Immigration Act 1971. Both were bailed pending further investigations.

"Checks made at restaurants and hairdressers in Corsham and Calne were found to be all in order.

"If you have concerns regarding modern slavery or human trafficking, please call 101. "
