Woman attacked while walking in Haywards Heath

She was punched in the face on Saturday (June 19th)

Police are seeking witnesses after a woman was attacked on a Haywards Heath footpath.

The victim, in her early 20s, was walking along a footpath leading from Chapman Way, close to the St. Francis Social Club, to Colwell Road when the incident happened at around 12.50pm on Saturday (June 19th).

Sussex Police said she was approached from behind by someone who pulled her hair and then punched her to the face.

The suspect, of whom there is currently no description, then ran away through the bushes.

PC Sam Chapman said;

"We have had no reports recently of similar incidents or anything else that could be linked to this.

"We would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who saw anything else suspicious in that area on Saturday morning.

"You can contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 654 of 19/06."
