Woman dies after being hit by car in Hove

Police have made an arrest following the collision in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 11th).

Police have made an arrest following a fatal crash in Hove in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 11th).

A woman in her 40s was hit by a car near to the Peacock Industrial Estate in Davigdor Road at around 12.20am.

Sussex Police said the woman received medical treatment from paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been told.

A 28-year-old man from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving a vehicle without insurance/ without a driving licence.

He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Davigdor Road was closed for investigation work but had re-opened as 11am on Thursday.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, has dash cam footage, or CCTV of the area to contact police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, or by calling 101 quoting Operation Divan.
