Woman charged with making over 400 nuisance calls to Sussex emergency services

She's alleged to have been abusive to police and ambulance teams

Police have charged a woman with two counts of making abusive and nuisance calls to emergency services in Sussex.

Wendy Sirisena is alleged to have rang the South East Coast Ambulance Service 289 times and Sussex Police a further 113 times between July 1st, 2020 and January 21st this year.

The two offences both fall under the Communications Act 2003.

Officers have also charged the 39-year-old, of Sherbourne Road in Hove, with two breaches of a Community Protection Notice issued on 20 January 2021.

The breaches were allegedly made on 23 January and 4 February 2021.

Sirisena was bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates Court on April 1st.
