Witness appeal launched after serious assault in Worthing

Five men have been arrested but more information is needed

Police were called to Whitebeam Road on Sunday 4th April just before 7:30pm after a man was found injured in the street.

It's believed he was assault in the nearby Longcroft park.

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where he remains in a serious condition.

A Spokesperson from Sussex Police said:

"Police attended the scene and after carrying out a number enquiries, they arrested four males in connection with the assault, who remain in custody at this time."

"Officers are treating this as an isolated incident, and residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area while the investigation continues."
